Bezos – McDonald’s to Forbes
Many may not realize that Jeff Bezos started his work life in the kitchen of a McDonald’s restaurant. Several articles in the past 60 days speak to his continued MISSION to create efficiency. The recent purchase of Whole Foods along with innovation of the start-up company Blue Origin, accentuate his consumer insight and focus. In the Book ‘Golden Opportunity’, Jeff shared the following comment….. “You learn a lot as a teenager working at McDonald’s. It’s different from what you learn in school. Don’t underestimate the value of that!” As Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos topped Forbes’ ranks of the world’s richest in July 2017, as his online retail stock surged. –He owns nearly 17% of Amazon, which he founded in a garage in Seattle in 1994. –Bezos first job was at McDonald’s –He attended Princeton and worked at a hedge fund before quitting to sell books online. –Bezos’ other passion is space travel: His aerospace company, Blue Origin, is developing a reusable rocket that Bezos says will carry passengers. –He purchased The Washington Post in 2013 for $250 million. –Bezos donated $33M to the non-profit organization Dreamers, providing college scholarships Everyone learns a great deal from their first job. It’s inspiring to see a fellow McDonald’s alum make a huge impact on the world today.
